The Brinks Commercial Heavy-Duty Passage Lever is designed for doors that do not require locking such as connecting doors within office buildings, hallway doors, or closets. The latch bolt is operated by the lever from either side of the door at all times. Equipped with tubular chassis for easier installation, the passage lever will fit wood or metal doors 1-3/8" to 2" thick. The Heavy-Duty Passage Lever features 4-5/8" solid zinc diecast levers, an ANSI Grade 2 rating that's tested to exceed 500,000 cycles, a 3 hour fire rating (UL Listed) and is ADA compliant for commercial or residential use. A T-strike, 4-7/8" ASA strike, mounting hardware, and installation instructions are included.

To adjust the door thickness base plate on chassis
- To remove exterior lever insert the key and rotate the key 90 degrees clockwise. While the key is turned insert the push pin into the hole on the side of the exterior lever, depress the catch and remove lever.
- Remove exterior rose with spring cage
- Determine thickness of door
- Rotate base plate to its furthest position
- Using the provided door thickness guide, place the dotted line of your door thickness next to the edge of the chassis body and rotate the base plate back to the required distance.
Rotate to D for 2" thick door:
Rotate to C for 1-3/4" thick door:
Rotate to B for 1-9/16" thick door:
Rotate to A for 1-3/8" thick door:
Once properly adjusted reinstall the exterior rose and spring cage, be sure to align the tab on the exterior spring cage to the channel on the side of the exterior spindle.
And align the four slots on the base plate to the four raised spots on the rose, rotate the base plate slightly to match if necessary.
Reinstall the exterior lever.
Slide the lever onto the spindle until it stops.
Then rotate the key 90 degrees clockwise and push the lever until it locks into place.
Rotate the key back and remove.
Install the exterior assembly, check that the chassis is properly connected to the latch. The latch tail should be inserted into the retractor and the prongs of the latch are between the retractor and chassis body.
Rotate lever to see if latch operates correctly
Interior assembly
Install the anti-rotation plate with the words "against door" towards door. Secure with the 2 CC mounting screws.
Next install the interior spring cage. Make sure the tab aligns with the slot on the interior spindle.
Note: the interior spring cage tab fits snug against the slot on the interior spindle, it is not inserted into the spindle.
Secure with the 2 BB screws.
Install the interior rose by aligning the dimples on the rose with the slots on the spring cage. Then rotate the rose so it snaps into place.
Push interior lever onto spindle until it locks into place.
Rotate lever to see if latch operates correctly
